CIA surveyed the horizontal and vertical locations of nearly 400 sanitary sewer manholes scattered throughout the City of Franklin. The manhole lids were removed, invert elevations were measured, and remarks were recorded regarding manhole condition.

The surveying was performed as part of a project to expand and refine an existing sanitary sewer hydraulic model. CDM Smith was the project leader.

Manhole data collection was primarily completed with RTN GPS methods and supplemented with conventional survey data collection in areas of dense cover. The manhole data was aggregated, analyzed, and delivered in both Excel spreadsheet and ArcGIS formats.
