Harpeth River Walk Preliminary Engineering, City of Franklin, TN

Preliminary engineering for construction of a 12-foot wide multi-use path.

In keeping with the goals and objectives outlined in the City of Franklin Greenway and Open Space Master Plan, the City contracted with CIA to prepare preliminary engineering for two new greenway connections along the Harpeth River. Two alternatives for a Pinkerton Park / Eastern Flank Battlefield Connection were studied along with three alternatives for a Pinkerton Park / Bicentennial Park Connection. The goal was to provide documentation to help City leadership ascertain the most judicious alignment for the potential trails along the Harpeth River.

Services included preliminary engineering for construction of a 12-foot wide multi-use path along both connections and alternatives. Plans included preliminary alignment, grading and drainage design, and right-of-way and easement acquisition tables. A preliminary schedule of estimated construction quantities was developed for each of the five alternatives along with an Engineers Opinion of Probable Construction Costs.
