Land Application Site Surveying for Camden WWTP Improvements Phase II
Surveying for acquisition of suitable land for land application of treated effluent.Changes in Camden’s wastewater discharge limits, i.e., more stringent limitations, prompted the city to evaluate alternatives for treated effluent disposal. CIA assessed the feasibility and costs of acquiring suitable land and constructing the necessary pump station and force main infrastructure versus hauling the treated effluent to a land application site. The land application system includes the acquisition of suitable land and the construction of a new effluent pump station and force main, a spray irrigation system, and monitoring wells.
Surveying activities included establishing survey control tied to the TN Geodetic Reference Network (TGRN), providing boundary survey of two parcels totaling 467 acres, establishing limits of selective clearing, setting targets for photogrammetry and topographic LIDAR data collection, and staking a 100’x100’ grid over the entire site for soil analysis. The survey was challenged due to lost Chain of Title from early conveyance (dating back to 1869) and required extensive boundary research and resolution.
