The City of Whitwell received a TDOT Multimodal Access Fund grant for construction of sidewalk along SR-28 from the Whitwell High School and Elementary School campus north to SR-108 (Main Street). Due to access restrictions, the City plans to construct a multi-use path along the abandoned L&N Railroad bed which parallel’s the western right-of-way of SR-28. More specifically, the project will include approximately 4800 feet of sidewalk/multi-use path along Hudson Street and said abandoned railroad bed from State Route 108 (Main Street) south and continuing across State Route 283 (Valley View Drive) to potential sidewalk connections at Whitwell High School and Elementary School.

As a subconsultant to the project designer, CIA provided land surveying services in support of the project. The survey was prepared in general conformance to TDOT survey guidelines and procedures and delivered in Microstation/Geopak format.
