CIA Engineers is a key member of a team providing water distribution system optimization for a major metropolitan utility. The team’s contract with Metro Nashville/Davidson County’s Water Services Department includes developing a long-term operational and capital improvement plan for the vast water distribution system.

The plan’s primary goal is to meet the area’s growing demands for quality water at an affordable cost. The plan seeks to optimize the system in order to achieve and maintain regulatory compliance, reduce water loss, reduce operations and maintenance costs, reduce energy consumption, increase water efficiency, assure fire flow availability, and obtain maximum value from distribution assets. Recommendations will be made for capital improvements and operational adjustments for major distribution components including transmission mains, reservoirs, booster pump stations, and two water treatment plant finished water pumping systems.
